基于QEMU的Wi-Fi仿真平台的设计

摘要:为了缩短Wi-Fi芯片及驱动开发周期、弥补现有平台难以同时支持硬件仿真与驱动验证的不足,本文设计并实现了基于QEMU的Wi-Fi仿真平台。该平台采用QEMU构建Wi-Fi硬件功能模型,设计PCI寄存器、中断机制和基于环形队列的DMA传输模块,并开发适配Linux mac80211子系统的NIC驱动。通过搭建单AP与单STA仿真场景,完成设备识别、接入点配置、信标收发和连通性测试。结果表明,平台能够实现Wi-Fi帧收发及AP、STA两种基础工作模式,验证了所设计硬件模型与驱动的可行性。

Design of a QEMU-Based Wi-Fi Simulation Platform
Abstract:To shorten the development cycle of Wi-Fi chips and drivers and address the limitations of existing platforms in simultaneously supporting hardware simulation and driver verification, this paper designs and implements a QEMU-based Wi-Fi simulation platform. The platform uses QEMU to build a functional model of Wi-Fi hardware, designs PCI registers, an interrupt mechanism, and a DMA transmission module based on ring queues, and develops a NIC driver compatible with the Linux mac80211 subsystem. By constructing single-AP and single-STA simulation scenarios, the platform completes device identification, access point configuration, beacon transmission and reception, and connectivity testing. The results show that the platform can realize Wi-Fi frame transmission and reception as well as the two basic operating modes of AP and STA, verifying the feasibility of the designed hardware model and driver.
