"Enabling"or"Constraining":Supply Chain Concentration on ESG "Greenwashing"

Abstract：As suppliers and customers are key participants in the supply chain, exploring the impact of supply chain relationships on corporate sustainable development is the micro-foundation of China\'s dual-carbon economy. This thesis takes the sample of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2012 to 2021 as the object, and explores the influence of supply chain concentration on corporate ESG "greenwashing" and its mechanism from both positive and negative sides. The empirical results show that the "squeeze effect" of supply chain concentration in terms of environmental effect is still larger than its "synergy effect", and supply chain concentration contributes to corporate ESG "greenwashing" behavior by exacerbating surplus management, and inhibits corporate ESG "greenwashing" behavior by promoting corporate green innovation. At the same time, the role of supply chain concentration on corporate ESG "greenwashing" behavior is more significant in non-state-owned enterprises and enterprises with two jobs.This thesis deepens people\'s understanding of the relationship between stakeholders and corporate sustainable development, and helps to promote the healthy development of corporate supply chains and the effective fulfillment of social responsibility.
