On the evolution of architecture in Tianjin concession based on cultural change

Abstract：As a witness of Tianjin\'s urban development, modern Tianjin concession architecture has formed a unique architectural culture due to the coexistence of nine concessions, which is characterized by diversity, richness and complexity. The evolution of concession architecture reflects the game and interaction between foreign culture and local culture in the urban development of modern Tianjin. Taking the cultural change process of Tianjin concession as the starting point, the evolution characteristics of architectural spiritual culture and material culture were analyzed in the paper by using the methods of field investigation and literature retrieval. Through the study of multi-game of different cultures , this paper put forward three stages of the evolution of concession architecture: the stage of mechanical mixed and replantation, the stage of hybrid symbiosis of different architectural styles,the stage of cultural innovation in which architectural styles were freely integrated. At the same time, it revealed the process of cross-cultural exchange and cultural identity, and further showed the complex process of the evolution of concession architecture through cultural change.
