Preliminary study on climatic suitability zoning of peach in Zhangjiagang

Abstract：Peach is the specially agricultural product in our city, the phoenix town is the main peach production base,it has the name of million acres of peach garden. Because of changeable climate in recent years, meteorological conditions have an important impact on peach.Therefore, the climate suitability division into districts of peach is beneficial to improve the planting benefit of peach farmers.Through analysis and reviewing of related literature, continuous rainy days in peach flowering periods, average temperature in fruit ripenting periods, and average temperature from Mid-July to Mid-August in summer are selected as the peach climate suitability division into districts index in this paper. Results of the study show that peach best growing areas are mainly located in the central region of our city, serveral parts in this region are also as the low risk areas of high temperature and heat damage.For this purpose ,we can put the phoenix peach base as a core, expanding planting scale, and thereby increasing the yields of peach.
