摘要:通过利用包含75个波长通道的波分复用光信号,本文实验研究了传输通过2毫米长硅基亚波长光栅波导的超高带宽数据传输。受益于亚波长光栅波导硅芯区内减弱的模场限制,该类型波导的最佳输入功率提高了约8dB相比于相同长度的硅基条波导。在最佳输入功率下,所有的75个波长通道完成了低于4e-5的误比特率。

Terabit-scale data transmission through silicon subwavelength grating waveguides
Abstract:In this paper, ultrahigh-bandwidth data transmission through a 2-mm-long silicon subwavelength grating waveguide is experimentally investigated by using 75 wavelength-division multiplexed channels. Benefiting from the decreased mode confinement in silicon core, the best launch power of subwavelength grating waveguide is increased by about 8 dB, compared with that of the silicon wire waveguide. Bit-error rate values less than 4e-5 are achieved for all 75 wavelength channels with the best launch power.
